You don't have to be girlie to be promy. I think you should stay away from the pastel colors, but trying bolder colors would help. I don't like the idea of wearing black to a prom, cuz it's such a typical color for a punker, try some reds, purpler or even greens lean toward bold colors.This will bring out the best in you. Punker as well as what u r capable of.

you could go with black but then get some colored jewlery or a shawl or something to give it color, you could get like blue or green or something, i think it would be really pretty, good luck!! hope it helped!

Try a sleevless red short dress, and black. Definetly try baby blue, and white. But its a pity you dont want pink. Pink will match that wonderful black hair you have, making your hair stand out more, and making the dress stand out more.
