Help! My hair will NOT stay curled!?

I've tried scrunching it, but SOMEHOW it ends up being straight! Hot curlers, curling irons, soft curling contraptions, I've tried everything!

What can I do that is easy and will work? Wearing things overnight-does that help? Any creams/gels that would be good to use? Thanks! Here's a few pictures of the curls I like:

by the way, my hair is naturally straight which complicates things even further. All helps is welcome!

make sure your hair is completely dry when you curl it.

Also, it tends to hold shape better if you curl it when it's dirty.

Make sure your hair is dirty when you try to curl it.

Wear the curls over night.

Never mess with a curl that is still warm from an iron.

i have had the same problem. i love curly hair.. the first thing i will suggest is a perm cause i got one and i love it. the second thing is various products,,,, i think that most of the aussie products work wonderful.. especially the aussie scrunching gel....

dont take a shower before curling ur hair... for ur hair to curl really nicely wait a day then curl it...thats what my hair dresser said.

lots of hairspray even if it gets sticky u gotta deal with it

and i use curling irons- cost about 3 bux and works great

just remember to use any kind of hairspray

and go on youtube and look up how to curl hair

some of those were born with curly hair just use a hair curler get a perm use lots of hair spray when you do this

I dont know, maybe trim ur hair a bit you may be the kind of person with really sensitive hair and its too long to support weight. Well just trim ur hair shorter and try curling then.

try putting mousse in (i think i spelled it wrong) but it might be worth a try ( put it in after you've curled it)

try using thermasilk curl perfection mousse. it helps keep my hair curled!

I have the SAME problem -- really straight/thin hair. Use any shamphoo that adds body (thicker fuller hair brand is good) and use a curling iron -- don't move -- and spray AUSSIE FREEZE -- it WORKS. It's the only think I found that works. It is strong and you won't be able to comb through it for a while.

try getting a shampoo and conditioner that has a curling agent in it. you hair will start out wavy and the more you use it the easier it will be to curl your hair. try like herbal essense, thats what i use and my curls are nice and bouncy!!

well i have naturally wavy hair %26amp; i have trouble holding curl :) heres what i have to do~ curling serum, gel, pull it up into a sloppy bun %26amp; blow it dry a little, turn on your shower as hot as it will go for steam %26amp; put your head in (not under the water~ just them steam~ keep your hair down %26amp; hair spray %26amp; scrunch w/ hair dryer~ then hair spray again~ not so much that your hair doesnt move though. there are all kinds of curl enhancer serums out there~ just trial %26amp; error til you find one you like :)

I believe if you buy some bobbie pins, and some gel, and take the patience to set down, and grab small pieces of hair, curl them around your finger and pin them to your head, it should be curly in the morning( keep hair damp while you are doing this). I do that when I want curls, and my hair looks like a wooley lamb. try it and let me know how it turns out

well, most of the curls/waves in those photos are dont with a curling iron. so scrunching your hair probably wont get it to be like that anyway.

you should feel lucky to have such straight hair, most people want that!

but you could always get a perm, that's what i did and i love it!

my hair is stick straight also, this is what i do:

wash, towel dry. apply a curl holding mousse, then scrunch with one hand where you want the curls while blowing dry with a diffuser on the end of your blow dryer. when it's almost all dry but still a smidge damp, spray with a scrunching spray. finish drying. you may have to touch up some of the ends with an iron. voila! my curls will usually stay a couple of days and look ok without washing. good luck!

Curling overnight definately helps! I would try using hot rollers overnight with a heavy dose of hair spray of some sort of curling gel or cream. My personal favorite curling product though is natural curl activating shampoo and conditioner. It gives you a nice gentle curl.

Try using the product, "Wet" by Sabastion. You can find it at any drugstore.

I use it when my hair is just washed, and towel dried. First, I scrunch my hair and then I put "Wet" in my hand and use it to scrunch my hair again.

Then, I dry my hair with a defuser. This works really good on my hair.

*A tip for you is to keep scrunching your hair while you're using the defuser. It will prevent the curls from coming out.

Curling Irons, if used with the right things, will always work!! When ur hair is dry, after washing, seperate it into sections. Now, take a section, and before you curl it, spray some hairspray on. Use ur curling iron, and after ur done the entire section, spray hairspray on again. Do that for each section. Trust me, it soooo works! My best friend is like asian, and she has the silkiest straightest hair I have ever seen, and this method ALWAYS works on her!!!
